Marathon Petroleum to Buy Andeavor for $23 Billion

Today, Marathon Petroleum Corp. announced a deal to buy rival refiner Andeavor (formerly Tesoro and Western Refining) for $23 Billion. The acquisition will make Marathon the nation’s largest refiner.

Marathon is based in Findlay, Ohio, and has operations concentrated in the East and Midwest. The deal is anticipated to close in the second half of the year.
