UST RF Continuation Bill Signed into Law
Over the weekend, Governor Ducey signed HB2671 (UST Program Continuation) into law. We are working with ADEQ on the next steps to activate the Tank Site Improvement Program for the current fiscal year. The agency plans to post updated TSIP applications on their website in the next week and then begin accepting applications in August. There will then be a 45 day prioritization period where the agency accepts and reviews applications before awards are finalized. It is anticipated that there will be two prioritization periods each year with the ability for owners to roll over their application to the next period if there are not enough funds to cover all projects.
Other Legislative Updates
On June 30, after 171 days of session, the Arizona Legislature adjourned sine die, ending their work for the regular session. They finished the final budget bill with only hours to spare, but they got it done.
Unfortunately, the industry coalition was unable to assemble the necessary votes in the House to pass the tobacco and vapor regulation bill (HB2682) this year.
