ADOT Confirms Freeze on Future NEVI Sites
APMA contacted ADOT to learn about the status of current and future National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program sites in the state.

ADOT shared the following:

• Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) advised ADOT on Thursday, Feb. 6, that it is updating the NEVI Formula Program Guidance. At this time, we expect to continue moving forward with the first phase of Arizona’s program, which has awarded 18 fast-charging electric vehicle stations to be built along interstate freeways. As of today, $12 million in NEVI Formula Program funding has been authorized for program initiation and the 18 awarded charging stations.
• Last month, ADOT issued a Request for Proposals to design, build, operate and maintain 35 privately owned electric vehicle charging stations along I-10, I-40, US 60, 89, 93, and 160, along with state routes 64, 68, 80, 87, 90, 95, 260, and 347. ADOT had planned a Feb. 21 pre-proposal, virtual conference and requested proposals by April 18. This RFP is being placed on hold.
