Industry News for October 20, 2020

The Phoenix Public Safety and Justice Subcommittee addressed the issue of youth vaping on Wednesday, October 14. Over 90 people signed in to speak at the virtual hearing. There was testimony in support of a full flavor ban for all tobacco and vapor products including menthol and mint. Industry voices raised numerous concerns with a flavor ban.

The outcome of the hearing was a request for further study by staff. We will need retailer voices to weigh in during upcoming stakeholder sessions.

Since the summer, APMA has been engaging with a group of stakeholders to oppose the effort. No language has been introduced so far.
