WMSD Legislative Proposal Meeting & Rule Update
The Weights and Measures Services Division will host a stakeholder meeting to review and discuss legislative proposals for the upcoming year.

Proposal #1
• Involves A.R.S. § 3-3452
• Eliminate annual license fees for two motor fuel device categories: keylock, limited access, with accumulators, per hose and nozzle, and remote indicator and control units
• Establish a license fee category for Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (“EVSE”)
Proposal #2
• Involves A.R.S. Title 3, Chapter 7, Article 6 as it relates to motor fuels
• Remove outdated requirements mandating that ADEQ develops motor fuel rules
• Remove outdated requirements regarding the approval of alternative fuel formulations
• Add a new section outlining the current EPA waiver process
• Reorganize gasoline requirements, remove outdated requirements, and reword text to improve the clarity of these statutes
More details on the proposals will be distributed in advance. The session is currently scheduled for in person only, but requests for virtual participation will be considered.
The WMSD Rulemaking package will be headed for the Governor’s Regulatory Review Council soon. Watch for a call to action with write in instructions regarding the E15 in the CBG-area proposal.
ADOT to Host In Person Public Meeting on EV Chargers
ADOT will host a series of public open houses throughout the state to share details of its plan to develop a network of electric vehicle fast charging stations along interestate highways in Arizona using federal funding through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program.
• Tucson: Wednesday, October 19 from 5-7 pm, Ramada by Wyndham (Cactus Ballroom), 777 W. Cushing Street, Tucson, AZ 85745
• Yuma: Tuesday, October 25 from 5-7 pm, City of Yuma Council Chambers, 1 City Plaza, Yuma, AZ 85364
• Kingman: Tuesday, November 1 from 5-7 pm, Mohave County Administration Building, 700 Beale Street, Kingman, AZ 86401
• Flagstaff: Wednesday, November 2 from 5-7 pm, Flagstaff Aquaplex, 1702 N. Fourth Street, Flagstaff, AZ 86004
• Phoenix: Wednesday, November 16 from 5-7 pm, Gateway Community College, Integrated Education Bldg – Copper Room, 108 N. 40th St, Phoenix, AZ 85304
The meetings will be an open house format with a recorded presentation with study details and study team members on hand to provide information and answer questions.
