Arizona Legislative Session Starts Next Week
Statewide office holders including Governor Doug Ducey, Secretary of State-Elect Katie Hobbs, Attorney General Mark Brnovich, and Treasurer-Elect Kimberly Yee will participate in an inauguration ceremony and festivities at the Arizona Capitol today.Next Monday, January 14 will mark the opening of the Arizona legislative session with swearing in ceremonies for the House and Senate. Governor Ducey will give a State of the State speech to highlight his priorities for the upcoming year.

APMA’s Legislative Committee will be monitoring bills that impact the membership. The first committee meeting will be Tuesday, January 22 from 1:30 – 2:30 pm via GoToMeeting.com. Email APMA to learn more and get involved.

Top priorities for APMA include:

·     UST Reforms bill including TSIP parity, lien parameters, payment of legitimate costs incurred outside of preapproval and possibly UST transfer to WQARF and penny per gallon extension

·     Supporting fuel tax increase of up to 10 cents per gallon that equalizes the diesel tax differential, is statewide and is not indexed to inflation. Opposing county option fuel taxes and indexing.
