Arizona Legislative Session Underway

Last week, Governor Ducey delivered his State of the State address before a joint session of the Legislature. The Governor’s speech focused on a wide range of priorities for the state including veterans, teacher programs, mental health services, reduced regulatory burdens and more. The Governor’s executive budget prioritized education, public safety and infrastructure – mostly through one time spending rather than ongoing commitments. You can review the budget presentation, highlights or complete proposal here. Legislative leadership is pushing for early budget negotiations.

APMA’s Legislative Committee will be monitoring bills that impact the membership. The first committee meeting will be Friday, January 31, 2020 at 11 am. Email APMA to learn more and get involved. Troy Little from Quik Mart Stores will serve as APMA’s Legislative Committee Chair this year.
