Director’s Report – APMA PAC Night Golf Tournament

The Greatest Glow on Grass

Supporters and friends had a fantastic night golf outing at the Continental Golf Club in Scottsdale on Friday, January 25, 2019. This was the third annual night golf fundraiser for APMA PAC.
Participants enjoyed a cheeseburger dinner and then teed off for nine holes of glowstick-lit play using glow in the dark golf balls.
While the Waste Management Phoenix Open may put on the Greatest Show on Grass, the Continental Golf Club has the glow in the dark golf experience down to an art.
The crowds were smaller than TPC and, to be honest, the golfers were perhaps not as good. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful night and received rave-reviews from attendees.
First place was claimed by Matt Behmer, Todd Flores with Canyon de Chelly Fuels, Shawn Frate and Jim Tidwell with Jackson Energy.
Second place prizes went to Mike Gray and Rich Tarnopolski with Caljet and Jami and Rylee Moore with HollyFrontier Companies.
APMA PAC is a state political action committee. It was formed in 2014 to increase APMA’s political presence at the state capitol.
“The goal of this APMA subentity is simple: when any legislator or regulator considers a measure that will impact APMA members, they call us first,” stated Amanda Gray, APMA PAC Treasurer.
Since 2014, APMA PAC has supported 21 candidates for statewide or legislative offices, with contributions exceeding $15,000.
APMA PAC funds go directly to state level candidates that are supportive of the issues and philosophy of the petroleum marketing industry.
All PAC contributions must be from personal (not corporate) funds.
