Friday morning, April 27, marked the 20th time that APMA has hosted a spring golf event to support scholarships for members and their employees and children.
One hundred golfers played the McCormick Ranch Golf Club pine course. They were glad to get an early start with a 7:30 am shotgun, as temperatures rose into the high nineties later that day.
During check in, attendees enjoyed free mini donuts from the Bites food truck. Flavors included maple bacon, Nutella cream and blueberry crumble.
Caljet ran a gambling wheel fundraiser with possibilities from good to great to less than desirable. Northwest Pump and Equipment brought back the golf ball launcher contest for a second year. Shell sponsored a $5,000 cash prize for a hole in one. Cochise Companies hosted a keg and played a Vegas card game with a possibility of winning a hole in one.
This event came together with much help from the 2018 Golf Committee: Nick Herbert from Arizona Fuel Distributors, Josh Kinsey from Senergy Petroleum, John Dawdy from Northwest Pump & Equipment, Vu Nguyen from Andeavor and Tyler Herzog from Cochise Companies (Chair).
