APMA and NACS Joint Industry Update Luncheon Recap
On Tuesday February 11, NACS and APMA held a joint luncheon event at the Crowne Plaza Phoenix Airport. NACS President and CEO Henry Armour presented on industry topline and category trends including sales categories. Other discussion topics included wages, associate turnover and impacts of e-commerce.
The group participated in several scenario planning exercises to consider how developments in certain arenas (fuels, plastics, tobacco) could impact the industry and, importantly, how businesses can plan for and adapt. Finally, Armour highlighted top 2019 issues on Capitol Hill and forecasting for 2020. Each year, Armour tours the country and visits 6-10 states.
