Marathon Petroleum to Buy Andeavor for $23 Billion Today, Marathon Petroleum Corp. announced a deal to buy rival refiner Andeavor (formerly Tesoro and Western Refining) for $23 Billion. The acquisition will make Marathon the nation’s largest refiner. Marathon is based in Findlay, Ohio, and has operations concentrated in the East and Midwest.
